It is worth noting that selecting a search engine friendly name will give you a strong impetus to succeed online before you start to select an address. Search engines love the rich domain of keyword
s, since this is assumed to be important. When you choose a domain that targets keywords for your core market, your Webpages are remarkably well positioned. Making your choice of website friendly would allow you to draw a target public to your website, increasing your conversation speed, which leads to further online
It might be clear to some people that you name your website after your domain, but most pages do not get named according to their names.
For the very simple reason that, when your viewers think about your website they will consider it by name, I can’t emphasize how important it is to named your site after your domain name. You’ll also know what to type in the browser, since your web site name is also your URL, to get to their site. For example, you don’t have to ask what URL in your browser to access your IBM website if you are thinking about IBM. The site name is also the URL in this case.
2. Better Domain: Brand Specific or Generic?
What I’d advise here is to buy both. It’s different for any online project. You can build your site on a generic domain and move the brand name to the generic domain. You may use a keyword-based name to create links but also to use the branded domain name in your advertisements, radio, newspapers, magazines and more. The other advantage is also that the site can be sold in the future.
Typically, if you are a business, you would like the advertised domain to go around as long as you are. If your project is an affiliate website, I would suggest that you use the generic name, as you will bored with the project some time later and may sell it and proceed to something new. The best approach is to try to stick to the branded domain as far as possible.
That’s why I think it’s really important for a domain that suits your brand name. The very name you use to sell your product is the name your website would like to give, since this is the first thing people try when they visit their website in their browser. They often recall it better, because whatever is quickly recalled is more likely than the unclear domain name to be tested.
3.Extended Registration Period
The question is, should you register or renew for a long time your domain name? And if so, how much time? You should consider how long your rivals have registered their domains if you want to stay ahead of competition. You might consider registering your domain name for five or 10 years after your competitors normally register or renew their domains for one or more years. The expiry date and age of your domain will help your rankings as the search engine uses age to determine the reputation of the whole company. Often new domain names with a shorter term are classified by search engines as spam pages.
