Step 1.  Fill SBI PO application form

Aspirants who aim to apply for the SBI PO exam should fulfill the eligibility criteria discussed below: 

Nationality : 

A candidate is required to be any of the following:

  • Indian citizen.
  • The subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
  • Refugees of Tibet migrated to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement.
  • Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who came from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam or East African countries of Zaire, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Ethiopia, Malawi, with the intention of permanent settlement in India. Candidates belonging to categories 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt. of India in their favor.

Age eligibility:

Education eligibility:

  • Candidates are required to have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent degree which is recognized by the government of India. The passing certificate should indicate the degree pass date on it.
  • Youngsters who are in their final year may also apply for the exam on a provisional basis.
  • There is no minimum limit of marks for filling the SBI PO 2021 Application Form.

The application fee for the general category/OBC is Rs 750 and NIL in the case of SC/ST/PWD.

Step 2. Download SBI PO Admit Card/call letter

Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website of the State Bank of India. Aspirants are issued with separate admit cards for prelims, mains, and personal interviews. It may be noted that a hard copy of admit cards will not be sent by post. 

Step 3.  Appear for preliminary exam

Candidates who wish to crack the SBI PO exam have to go through three phases mentioned below:

Phase I – Preliminary exam

Phase II – Mains exam

Step 4. Appear for Mains exam

After clearing preliminary exams, aspirants have to appear for the mains exam. The pattern for the mains exam is explained hereunder :

Step 5. Go through group discussion round and personal interview

Aspirants who clear the preliminary exam and mains exam have to clear group discussion round and personal interview. The group discussion round carries 20 marks and the personal interview carries 30 marks.
